J-fashion Meet up Linz

Hello dolls

Last week we had a J-fashion Meet-up in my area. People attended in all kind of different styles and I really enjoyed it.

This was our group.

It was totally cold and windy that day and on the way to the Meet I lost my hat. The wind blew it away and I couldn't find it anymore T.T Luckily the Meet took place in the city so I could buy a new one ~

Hat- H&M
Wig- Bodyline
Blouse- H&M
JSK- Bodyline
Tights- F21
Shoes- An*tai*na

After taking the photos we went shopping around the city. We ate at a Japanese/Chinese restaurant. After that some of us had to leave already and those who stayed spent the rest of the evening at a Cafe.

I loved the experience of a Meet with a mix of different styles and I hope I can attend a J-Fashion Meet again!

See you,
Yaya

Why dolls love boxes ♡

Hello dolls

Today I want to talk about boxes and why so many people love them.

Here you can see some of my favourites

In my opinion boxes are very useful and cute for several reasons:

  • They are handy for storing. Especially if you room is small like mine. I store nearly anything in boxes. Jewellery, CD's, postcards&letters, stationary..
  • Boxes come in all shapes and sizes. You are likely to find one for any need you might have.
  • They make perfect presents. Of course you shouldn't forget to fill them before giving them away.

  • They are easy to collect. Things you buy in stores are often kept in boxes. If you unwrap them keep the box. If you don't like how it looks you can always decorate and modify them how you want.

What do you think about boxes? Love them? Hate them?
Tell me in the comments!

Until next time,
Yaya

Dipped in Inspiration #1

Hello dolls

I'm sorry for the lack of updates last week but now I'm back. You surely noticed that I changed the design of my blog and removed the header. I want to make a better one as soon as I find time for it. I also added a 'tag cloud' to the sidebar which can be used to search blog posts by topics. And last but not least I joined bloglovin. The main reason for that is that google-reader will stop their service at the beginning of July. When their service ends you can only follow my blog through facebook, twitter or bloglovin. It's still some time until July but feel free to follow me on bloglovin right away :3

Today I want to present you a new blog series I named 'Daily Doll Inspiration'. In these posts I will feature content that inspires me. I will show pictures, links of other blogs, videos and so on.

EDIT: I changed the name to Dipped in Inspiration to match it with my blog title!

Lately I'm totally crazy about romantic-cute jewellery. I especially love cameos and things alike.

On etsy I found a cute store selling these bottle cap necklaces.
I ordered this one:

In my opinion the designs are very cute and  I also like how you can choose the length of the chain as you want it. I will write a proper review when the necklace arrives.
You can view the shop here.

For lovers of steam-punk I found this shop. Their items are a bit pricey, however, the designs are gorgeous *-*

All photos belong to the shop owners.

I hope you liked this first edition of Daily Doll Inspiration
and I hope to see you soon again.

Children's Books for Lolitas

Hello dolls

Lately, I'm dealing a lot with children's books because I need that for my final exams. I thought it would be fun to feature some a Lolita might like.

#1 Alice Adventures in Wonderland.
Alice seems to be a fix element of Lolita fashion. Alice themed stuff is popular for dress prints and there is even an own substyle called Alice Lolita (It's not so popular in the west though ~).
I read the book myself and I enjoyed it a lot. Lewis Carroll also wrote a second story with Alice as protagonist. The book is called Through the looking glass.
It's also fun to see which of the characters that appear in the movies are from witch book!

#2 Winnie-the-Pooh
by A.A.Milne
When I was a child I was crazy about the Disney adoption of Winnie-the-Pooh. I watched the movie/episodes nearly everyday. I read the book again lately and it's just so cute
The characters are nearly all toys what makes the story interesting for Lolitas. I also love how the whole story plays in a wood.

#3 The Moomins
Moomins are fairytale like creatures that live in a wood. The Moomin series includes nine volumes written by the Swedish author Tove Jansson. I sadly wasn't able to read the series myself so far but I heard that the German translation it isn't far as good as the original. Sadly I don't have any information about the English version in this matter ~

#4 Fairy-tales
Many Lolitas get inspired by fairy-tales. If you are of the opinion that the one's for children are too boring try to find the original versions that were written for adults.

Are there any children's books you enjoyed? Tell me in the comments!

Love,
Yaya

10 Lolita Spring Ideas

Hello dolls

It's march and spring is near! Many Lolitas see spring as the best season to wear the fashion as it is neither too hot nor too cold for all the layers.
Here are my ideas and tips on how to make the best of this season:

collage made by me.
  • Go for pale colours in you coordinates. Fresh, light colours fit perfectly into spring.
  • Add flowers to your outfits. Either as a print or as accessory.
  • Make sure you own enough cardigans to match with your outfits for this season.
  • Do a special themed outfit for Easter.
  • Make a Lolita picnic.
  • Take walks in a local park. If the sun is very strong bring a parasol with you.
  • Pick flowers, press them and add them to your scrapbook.
  • Do a spring clean! Sort out your wardrobe and add new decoration to your room.
  • Take outfit pictures outside with blooming flowers and fields in the background.
  • Start something new! Spring often symbolises a (re)start. If there is something you wanted to do since ages but never started, do it now
I hope you all have a happy spring

HARAJUKUKAWAiiTV yeah ~

Hello dolls

In this post I told you about the fun we had in Brussels and at the KPP concert. What I never told you, after the concert we got interviewed by a youtube channel.

The video is finally out:

We appear at 2:20. The interview was shortened quite a lot. I don't talk much as I'm really camera shy but I still think the video is lovely :3

Have fun watching!
See you,
Yaya

Lolita 52 Challenge - What is in my make up bag?

Hello dolls

Did spring reach you all? In Austria it's so sunny at the moment *-* The sun makes me a lot happier and active.

On to the topic of this week ~

These are the basic supplies I use for my make-up
From left to right:

eyeliner pen carbon by b.pretty
white eyeliner by LOOK
liquid eyeliner a friend gave me
mascara by colosé
silky smooth compact powder by IQ cosmetics
defining blush by catrice (I love catrice products lately)
m.perfect cover b.b cream by MISSHA
stay natural concealer by essence

I also use various kinds of eyeshadow.
I'm honestly not a pro when it comes to make up. Normally I just watch some youtube videos on make up styles and try to copy that xD
Since I started with Lolita  I learned a lot about make up and I hope I can make further improvement :)

See you soon,
Yaya
