IW Tea Party - My entry to the Cover Art Contest

As I said before we will have a Lolita Tea Party here in Austria next month. The organisation team announced several contests and there was one in which I felt like participating - The Cover Art Contest.

The task was to create a picture that resembles 'Lolita' and 'Vienna' :) The winning entry will be printed on the cover of the info brochure and there is a secret price.
This was my entry:

My art is a lot inspired by Sakizo's illustrations lately ~

The winner of the contest will be announced at the Tea Party. I don't know if I have a chance, there were so many awesome entries ♥ , but I'm already exited to see who won.
You can few the other works here :D

Do you guys like to draw? Tell me in the comments!

DIY Drawer Dollhouse

As promised in previous posts I want to share a little DIY project with you. I turned an old drawer into a dollhouse. I found the idea for it in a magazine my mother often buys and immediately wanted to try it myself.

This is the final result:

The tutorial:

You will need:
♥ old drawer
♥ paint suitable for wood
♥ brushes of various sizes
♥ tape
♥scrapbook-paper
♥ misc. things for decoration

At the beginning my drawer didn't have plank in the middle. My Stepfather helped me with it. Sadly he did so while I wasn't at home so I don't have any pictures on how it looked before or on how he did this -.-
Nevertheless this plank will us help to create two floors in the dollhouse.

The next step is to give colour to the whole drawer. You can choose any colour you prefer. For me, I chose light pink and white ^^

The pink out of the can was too dark for my taste so I mixed it with white until I had a nice pastel pink.

Colour it - an easy and fun part :D

After some time it should look like this. I left the plank out as I wanted it to be white.

Before using a new colour I masked off the pink parts around the plank with tape. Doing so will prevent stains of the second colour on the colour you used first.

For the 'walls' of the dollhouse I used scrapbooking paper.

Cut it into the right size and glue it into the drawer.

For the upper floor I also wanted to create a window. I used scrapbook materials again :)

With some cardboard paper I created a windowsill and sat a bird on it ♥
The furniture is a set from the brand 'Sylvanian Families'. It's pretty much dollhouse toys just that the dolls are animals. I had a few when I was a kid and since I saw them in the stores again I wanted to buy a little set. Up to now I just didn't know where to put it ^^

This is the furnished dollhouse without much details.
For the details I mostly used parts of broken jewelry and buttons. It's a good opportunity to use small objects which you don't know how to use otherwise.

For the mirror I crocheted a round piece and glued a mirror from a broken compact mirror on it.

Then, simply glue it on the wall :)

Here I added a FIMO bow, a part of a broken brooch and an old button shaped like a Teddy Bear :D

And here you can see another three buttons.

And here are the finished floors ♥

The carpet under the piano was also created with scrapbook paper.

Well I hope you liked this tutorial and it was some help to you.
If anybody of you is going to make his own drawer-dollhouse don't forget so send me a picture ♥ I'd love to see it!

See you,
Yaya ♥

Daisy hairpiece tutorial

Hello dolls ♡

With this post it is official, I'm addicted to flowery headaccesoires!
This time I will show you how to make this:

It's super easy and only takes a few minutes.

You will need:

Flowers of your choice
Pearls of your choice
Satin ribbon of your choice

Step #1 (optional): Arrange the flowers and the pearls on the ribbon to check how it will look. I did this because I tried out different colours of pearls. For me it looked best with the green ones.

Step #2: Using a hat glue gun attach one piece after the other

Take your time and be careful with the hot glue gun :)

And you are done :)
I especially love how this looks with a bun:

I hope you enjoyed this easy and quick tutorial :)
If you decide to make your own send me a picture!

Dipped in Inspiration #2

Hello dolls ♡

Lately, I love to check out weheartit.com for small tutorials and DIY ideas.
Here are my favourites so far.

This is a very easy way to create cute bookmarks. If you don't want to use fabric you could also use clay for the ribbons.

(Make sure you use colours like nail polish that can be removed in case you ever want to move and need to give your keys back)

A very cute way to personalise your keyboard. The used tape is called "Washi tape" which is very popular in Japan.

I love this idea for creating lovely cookies :3

None of these tutorials belong to me. The credit goes to the owners!

Showing my creepy side

Hello dolls ♡

Interesting tittle, right?^^
In today's post I will do something I didn't do before...I will show you one of my drawings.

What kept me from posting my artwork here before? The main reason is that I fall out of love with my drawings pretty easy.^^

Normally, I don't draw creepy stuff like this but I felt like it lately. I got inspired for this by different sources like creepy-cute fashion but also Alice in Wonderland. The eyeballs are taken from one of Kyary Pamyu Pamyu's outfit. The bloody roses are inspired by 'pastelbat's' jewellery.

I hope I can show you some of my art soon again.
Until next time,

Crafternoon with Punkangel

Hello cuties ♡

I know I promised you a post about the lovely presents I got for Christmas this year but before that I have something else to share with you. Today me and Punkangel met up at my flat to do some crafty things. We sewed and made `decoden` stuff while chatting and listening to music. And as a plus we both wore our Mori Kei outfits.

My outfit:

Details

With shoes

Derpy faces hidden xD

We actually had a Crafternoon before but I didn´t blog about it back than as I didn´t really make anything useful xD

What I crafted:

I made this candy bracelet. Here is a short tutorial for you:

Step #1 Sew the candy shape using this tutorial:

Step #2 Make a chain using whatever thread and pearls you like.

Step #3 Add accessory if you want. You can glue or sew stuff on the candy ~
Then you are finished!

I also decorated a mirror:

You can easily make this by using glue :3

I hope we can have such a lovely day soon again!
Make sure you also check out Punkangel´s blog for more pics =)

See you soon,

Jewellery case painting tutorial ~

Hello cuties ♥

♥ I´m very excited to present you my very first tutorial ♥

Since ages I had this jewellery case and I never really liked the colour.

On a Gyaru blog I saw a tutorial on how to paint a bag with acrylic colours and I thought why shouldn´t that work for my jewellery case too?

If you want to follow the tutorial you will need:
Case you want to decorate
Acrylic colour
Rhinestones
Tweezers

First I mixed some white and red colour to create a light pink.

Apply the colour to the case.

It is likely that you will need several coats of colour so that it turns out opaque.
I had to apply 4 coats. Always let the last coat dry before you add the next ~

After two coats I had this..

...and after 4 it looked like this :)
I added some white colour to the lock.

The inside of the case is made out of a soft material so it isn´t possible to add acrylic colour to it..

So I only painted the drawers and the big space under the mirror.

After adding all the colour I decorated the mirror with some rhinestones

If you do that make sure the glue you use drys transparent.
You put a little bit of the glue onto the mirror and set the stones into the glue. Just check that the tweezers do not get full of glue.

The same way I also added some rhinestones to the drawers...

...and to the lock

And that´s all. I hope you liked the tutorial and found it helpfull :3
If anybody of you decides to desing their own jewellery case I would like to see it!

See you soon,
Yaya ♥
