Midsummer Night's Dream

Already a while ago Punkangel and me did a little shooting for a outfit contest that was hold in our local J-fashion facebook group. The group is ment for people who live near Linz/Upper Austria and are interested in J-fashion. You can view it here.

So the subject for the contest was a Midsummer Night's Dream. Punkangel and I decided to do something in the direction of Mori Kei.

This was my entry for the contest.

And here some additional pics that turned out quite cute in my opinion :3

We really had a fund day strolling around in the wood looking for a good place to take photos. Can't wait for our next shooting <3

Also the winner of the contest still isn't announced. Punkangel and me got equal likes so the winner will be decided in a voting round. I'm excited for the results ^___^

See you again,

Dipped in Inspiration #3

Hello dolls

I decided to give the inspiration series of my blog a new name that matches the blogtitle better. So it's now officially called Dipped in Inspiration. (I wonder why I didn't think about that before but well)

The last few days I spent most of my time with maths with browsing for Ulzzang pictures.
Ulzzang is a Korean word and means "best face" or "good looking" or so ~

Here are my favourites:

A friend of mine said Ulzzangs look like 12 years old children xD
I still think it's cute :3

I love buns so much lately <3

The Ulzzang fashion for girls is very feminine. It's a perfect cute- everyday- fashion.

of course boys can also be Ulzzang ~

If you want to be an Ulzzang yourself here are some tips based on what I know so far:

- Your face is most important for this look. It has to be flawless and evenly. BB cream is your friend.
- Female Ulzzangs have super long hair (I suppose a lot of them wear natural looking wigs). Buns and other easy hairstyles are also common. Use small fabric bows as accessory.
- Your lips should be pink or red. Gradient Lips are popular. I talked about them here
- Circle Lenses are common. Fake lashes shouldn't be too long. Many make-up tutorials on this style are available on youtube.
- The fashion reminds on a mixture of Gyaru and Otome. Look for it in local stores (forever 21 especially) or on taobao.
- If you take pictures of you Ulzzang coords choose a bright background. Edit with Photoshop or similar softwares if needed.
- Have fun!

Do you like Ulzzang? Or do you think it's too childish or unnatural?

Anklets, seashells and lighthouses - Love for maritime styles

Ahoi dolls

It's super warm outside lately and the hot weather is a perfect chance to do beach, sea and sailor inspired outfits.

source                                                                                                                 source
For Lolitas maritime elements are best coordinated in Sailor Lolita. Common colours are white, black, navy and red. For more info on Sailor Lolita check out this

For 50s and vintage lovers something like this would be possible.

If you like kawaii fashion but don't want to go for a Sailor Lolita outfit there are lots of cute Gyaru dresses available. What makes this dress marine like is mostly the collar and the stripes at the hem.

Some general tips for doing an marine inspired outfit:
wear something striped
wear black, navy, white or red
nice maritime motives are anklets, seashells or lighthouses
be creative and have fun

I found this cute idea for Sailor nails online. Aren't they adorable?

I'm also a fan of cute sailor hats but if one thinks that they are not appropriate for a daily outfit a headband can also give a nice touch to an maritime inspired outfit.

What I also wanted to state (and what actually brought me to the idea for this post) is maritime inspired interior.

Things like this ~

Or this ~

And things alike ~
One can find many cute marine interior in furniture shops or online.

Anybody of you who is in love with marine and sailor themed things?

A Lolita's sister - A guide to Otome Kei

Hello dolls

Lately, I'm interested in Otome kei. In this post I will try to create a little guide for you.

Otome kei is a Japanese street fashion that is quite hard to define. It's feminine and cute and mostly similar to Lolita with the difference that the skirt isn't that poofy.

This is one of my favourite Otome outfit pics. The outfits are sooo cute

What's the difference between Otome and Lolita?

On tumblr, I found this graphic that sums it all up. The credit goes to the owner!

What's the difference between Otome and Casual Lolita?

Actually, there isn't much difference. Many Casual Lolita outfits can be rated as Otome and many Otome outfits as Casual Lolita.
If it isn't sure if an outfit is Otome or Casual Lolita I would keep an eye on which brands are worn and if there is this certain "Otome feeling" to it.

This, for example, are cute Casual Lolita outfits but I wouldn't rate them as Otome.

This, on the other hand, could be either Otome or Casual Lolita.
As I said, it's hard to define what Otome kei really is. Sometimes you have to rely on your own idea about it ~

What's the difference between Otome and Gyaru?

I'm honestly not a pro when it comes to Gyaru but I believe Gyaru dresses and skirts can be shorter and the Otome hair and make up isn't that excessive.

What's the difference between Otome and Mori kei?

I would say the colours and the dress/skirt length. The used materials are also different.

Where to buy Otome clothes?

Emily Temple Cute and Axes Femme are only two examples of many Otome brands.
Please check out this for more info :3

Hair for an Otome outfit?

For Otome you hair doesn't have to be super styled. Wear it open, buns, braids, anything you like!

Otome make-up?

Make-up doesn't have to be overdone. Keep it natural and cute.

Anything else?

While browsing Otome pictures I noticed a few items that are used often:

berets and hats
cookie patterns (as prints on dresses or cookie shaped bags ~)
patterned tights (also, it's ok to wear no leg-wear at all in an Otome outfit)
trousers, especially dungarees, are common with Otome kei.

What is your opinion on Otome kei?
Let's discuss in the comments!

J-fashion Meet up Linz

Hello dolls

Last week we had a J-fashion Meet-up in my area. People attended in all kind of different styles and I really enjoyed it.

This was our group.

It was totally cold and windy that day and on the way to the Meet I lost my hat. The wind blew it away and I couldn't find it anymore T.T Luckily the Meet took place in the city so I could buy a new one ~

Hat- H&M
Wig- Bodyline
Blouse- H&M
JSK- Bodyline
Tights- F21
Shoes- An*tai*na

After taking the photos we went shopping around the city. We ate at a Japanese/Chinese restaurant. After that some of us had to leave already and those who stayed spent the rest of the evening at a Cafe.

I loved the experience of a Meet with a mix of different styles and I hope I can attend a J-Fashion Meet again!

See you,
Yaya

Lolita 52 Challenge- Combining other fashions with Lolita

Hello dolls

I'm a little late with the challenge post this time. I was so busy I totally forgot about it xD
Well, let's start :)

In my opinion some styles can be mixed with Lolita pretty easy.

This is a quick idea how Lolita can be combined with creepy cute fashion.
(The tights are a bit too neon maybe^^)

This could be a Lolita - Fairy Kei outfit.

Other styles I could imagine to look good with Lolita would be Mori Girl, Decora and maybe Dolly Kei.
If you try to combine Lolita with other styles just keep in mind that the silhouette should stay the same :)

What do you think about combining Lolita with other styles?
Tell me in the comments!

Lockshop Wig Review

Hello dolls

Some time ago Punkangel and I decided to order from Lockshop together. At the beginning I only wanted to order two or three wigs but than I ended up with four xD Their designs are just too cute!

Communication and Shipping
Punkangel ordered the wigs but there weren't any problems, so I would give them 5/5 :)

Mermaid in Honey

their stock-photo:

my photo:

I love this wig!  It's soft and easy to comb. To me the colour seems a little darker in real as on the stock photo, however, I don't mind^^
I need to trim the bang a little though
I love how it goes with my eyes and compliments my face.
5/5

Pastel Raindrops Bob in blonde x pink

stock photo:

my photo:

Compared to the stock photo the wig is a lot fuller than it looks. The colours are light and powder-ish. I like the mixture of blond and pink, however, I believe that the wig doesn't go well with darker clothes (Like I'm wearing in the picture) I shall try it with light coloured clothes next time :)
5/5

Dolly Chocolate Cherry

my photo:

The colour is like shown on the photo. As all lockshop-wigs it is soft. The curls are nice too. ~
5/5

Angelic Milk Tea and Royal Brown

my photo:

This wig makes me so happy  I loved split wigs ever since I came to Lolita and this one looks so natural while having two tones. I don't know if the side bangs suit me so maybe I will trim that later.
5/5

As you see, I'm very pleased with all four wigs. I can't wait to try some different hairstyles on them and wearing them with my outfits.
I will surely buy from lockshop again :)

Don't forget to read Punkangels part on the review here.

What do you think about lockshop.com and their wigs?
Tell me in the comments :)

See you,

Kyary Pamyu Pamyu Concert et le week-end a Bruxelles

Hello dolls

As you maybe know I and three friends were in Brussels this weekend. The concerts was great and we had so much fun in general. I have so many lovely pics to share with you so be ready for a spam xD

 Jassi, me, Snii and Duplica.
I look kinda derpy xDD

We arrived at Friday night after an one and an half hour flight. It was my first flight and I have to thank Jassi for guiding me so well during it  :)

On Saturday we got up early because we wanted to do some sight-seeing. We decided to wear our concert outfits right away, as we weren't sure if we get back to the hotel before it.

My outfit...

...and my face ^0^

The centre of Brussels is so beautiful. They have lots of interesting shops and you can buy candy everywhere. I also liked the look of most buildings.

Our outfits attracted quite some a attention and we got photographed like 1000 times xD

One of the funniest moments was when these guys all dressed in black came up to us, asking for a photo ^^

We found out they were on the way to a metal-festival. I actually expected troubles when they walked up to us but they were super nice!

We also got to know the mum of one of Kyary's background dancer.
She was such a cutie, showing us a video of her daughter dancing.

Snii and I had the same idea for posing xD

On the concert itself taking pictures was forbidden. Before the concert started we had the chance to buy some merchandising. I bought stickers and badges :3
Kyary started punctual. The structure of the concerts was fun. Between the songs she talked with us (sadly in Japanese ^^) and video clips were showed. I was so happy that she sang 'Cherry Bon Bon' as it is one of my favourite song of hers. Of course she also performed her well known songs like `PonPonPon' and 'Tsukematsukeru'  but also songs I didn't know yet.

The concert was over kinda early and we stayed at the bar and chatted with the people that were still around. After that my feet hurt so hard because I wasn't used to my shoes. So I was happy that we went back to the hotel.

On Sunday we had some time before flying back so we visited the 'Atomium' , a famous building in Brussels.

and here three additional pics I absolutely want to share with you:

studying the map is kawaii xD

me and Snii, her sweet-tooth is incredible *-*

And another pic of my outfit ~

For me it was an awesome weekend filled with lots of fun and new experiences. I hope we can go on holiday like this again someday ^0^

And I'm not sorry that this post is so long and picture heavy.

That's it.
See you again!
