Adding some Shoujo Manga aspects to your Lolita...

...without looking like a cosplay Lolita.

Hello cuties
I sometimes feel like quite many Lolitas I know also seem to be Manga or Anime fans in some way. It´s hard to pair your Lolita clothes with your love for Manga because it can easily look odd.
In this post I want to give you some tipps on how to add some magical Shoujo magic to your Lolita.

First I want to mention the etsy shop "Starlightdecodream". The owner of the shop makes beautiful jewellery inspired from Shoujo Manga like Sailor Moon or Creamy Mami.

I think these became quite popular lately. Some of the items are a bit pricey but I still hope to get my hand on one of these necklaces some day.
Wearing jeweller that features Magical Girl weapons is a easy way to add some magic to your coord ~

The next way to get some Shoujo into your Lolita  is to style your hair. If you have long hair or a long wig try some Sailor Moon pigtails. Simple pigtails, buns or braids are also cute :3

Moreover you could use Anime mascots as accesoiry. Many of these mascots are available as stuffed toys, key charms or even bags. :3

Some people maybe also like to wear cat ears or bear hats.
I think you can find these on eBay :3

Just make sure that it doesn´t look to much like cosplay and have fun to try out different things ~

Do you have any other idea how one can add some Shoujo aspects to Lolita? Tell me in the comments :)

Until next time,

How to order from taobao- part #1

Hello cuties

On egl somebody asked me to explain how to order from taobao ~
I will split this in two posts. This time I will tell you some basic things and how to order from an*tai*na.
In the next part I will talk about shopping services.

For those of you who never heard of taobao before: taobao.com is a shopping site offering various products from China. Many Lolitas like buying their dresses there because they are normally cheaper than brand dresses. You can also find replicas on taobao.

I remember that when I first checked out taobao I was totally confused because of all the Chinese^^. However I learned that you still can look around on taobao even if you do not get what the text is saying. Just do not give up ~

How to search things on taobao?
For me there are two ways for searching things on taobao. The first way is using the search function on the site:

If you open the site you will see something like this. In the circled field you can type what you are looking for. Use google translator to find out how the thing you are looking for is called in Chinese.

The orange button is the search button. I think that was obvious
Normaly you will have to look trough the suggestion taobao gives you. I for example searched for "Lolita" and quite many non-loli-able dresses appeared..

This is what I got for searching "Lolita".. If you want to take a closer look at one of the products click on the text under it. You also will see the price of the item in Yuan. You can use a currency calculator to find out how much it would be in your currency.

The easier way to find an item you look for is if you already know the name of the shop. You can write the name of the shop and taobao next to it into google to find the site of the shop.
If you for example look for an*tai*na´s shop search google for "antaina taobao".

The good thing about an*tai*na is that you can order from them without a shopping service. You just send them an e-mail telling them what you want.
Most taobao shops however do not ship outside of China. A shopping service can help you to buy from these shops but you will have to pay an extra fee. I will talk about this in detail in the next part ~

If you open an*tai*na´s site you will find this green text in english explaining you how to order from them.
The blue table on the side leads you to their offer on shoes. They are sorted by heel height and style (they offer Lolita, cosplay and punk shoes I think). For this you can use google translator again.

If you view one of their products you can see in which sizes and colours they offer it. If you scroll down a bit you will see extra pictures of the different colours.
On the site you can- like on ebay- see the shops feedback. I´m not 100% sure how the system works but I think 5 diamonds is the best.
EDIT: On this page taobao´s rating system is described very well. 5 crowns are the best

If you decided which shoes you want to have send them an e-mail saying:
shoes you want to have(copy and paste the "headline" of the item)
size
colour
quantity
your location so they can tell you how much the shipping will be.
(shipping for shoes normaly is higher because they are havy)

The will responde you telling the total amount of your order. They normaly do not send you an invoice through paypal. You have to send it to them (simply click on send money and write in the e-mail address they give you)

After your payment the shoes will be made and then be shipped.

Well, that was all I wanted to explain in the first part. I hope I could help some of you and if you have further questions just ask ~ I´m happy if I can help

Until next time,
Yaya

Jewellery case painting tutorial ~

Hello cuties

I´m very excited to present you my very first tutorial

Since ages I had this jewellery case and I never really liked the colour.

On a Gyaru blog I saw a tutorial on how to paint a bag with acrylic colours and I thought why shouldn´t that work for my jewellery case too?

If you want to follow the tutorial you will need:
Case you want to decorate
Acrylic colour
Rhinestones
Tweezers

First I mixed some white and red colour to create a light pink.

Apply the colour to the case.

It is likely that you will need several coats of colour so that it turns out opaque.
I had to apply 4 coats. Always let the last coat dry before you add the next ~

After two coats I had this..

...and after 4 it looked like this :)
I added some white colour to the lock.

The inside of the case is made out of a soft material so it isn´t possible to add acrylic colour to it..

So I only painted the drawers and the big space under the mirror.

After adding all the colour I decorated the mirror with some rhinestones

If you do that make sure the glue you use drys transparent.
You put a little bit of the glue onto the mirror and set the stones into the glue. Just check that the tweezers do not get full of glue.

The same way I also added some rhinestones to the drawers...

...and to the lock

And that´s all. I hope you liked the tutorial and found it helpfull :3
If anybody of you decides to desing their own jewellery case I would like to see it!

See you soon,
Yaya

Sockdreams.com review ~

Hello cuties

Some time ago me and three other girls from Austria did a group order on sockdreams.com. I ordered two pairs of striped socks and a pair of ankle socks.

The shipping was quick however we had some problems because the package was delivered to the wrong door. But that wasn´t socksdreams fault.

These socks are labeled " thigh highs" and I have to say they are really long! My problem with these is that they are quite tight. Actually they would cover my whole legs but they are so tight that it kinda hurts. So I keep them just a little over my knees.
They only come in one size so if you do not have absolutely thin legs I´m not sure if I would recommend them.
The positive aspect about them is that they are really warm and cozy and that they come in a great varity of colours :)

These ankle socks fit me perfectly which surprised me because my actual size was sold out and I had to take them a little bigger. I choosed the size "extra large" which should fit people with size 40-41 and I´m a size 39.
However "extra large" seems to be sold out as well now...

Altogether I´m happy with the order. It´s just a pitty that the thigh highs do not fit so well. Maybe it gets better after I wore them more often :)

There is another thing I wanted to show you:

This cute panda contains a hand creme. It´s from Korea :)
Thanks to my friend Kerstin and her friend Wooyang for sending me this

See you soon,
Yaya

Princess Day Inspiration ♥

Hi my cuties

I think I once said that I want to write a post about Princess Day. But first, what is Princess Day?

I came across this idea on a Hime Gyaru blog some time ago and I think it also became popular in the Lolita scene. In fact it just means that you take a day for yourself and do waht you feel like. I like the idea because taking time for one-self is important. It is a way to improve the love for yourself and loving yourself will give you more self confidence :D

I now that everybody knows what they want to do on their Princess Day themselves but I want to write a little inspiration list on what you could do on such a day. Maybe someone will think it´s usefull ~

Activities you could do are:

  • sleep all day
  • take a long bath

                      source
  • go shopping
  • allow yourself to eat too much candy
  • go into a restaurant
  • take a walk
  • enjoy a relaxing massage
  • get a manicure
  • go to the hairdresser
  • wear your favourite clothes
  • stay inside all day
                                  source
  • have a huge breakfast/dinner..
  • surf on the internet
  • bake, sew, craft
  • don´t do any work
There are surley thousands of other activities you could do. As I said this list is just meant for inspiration. Don´t limit yourself and do what you feel like. And most important, have fun!

Anyway I wanted to thank anybody who is following my blog. I´m happy if people enjoy what I write here :D

See you next time,
Yaya

5 kawaii- characters you should now ~

Hello cuties

Here is another post full of cuteness and inspiration~
I want to write about characters form sanrio, san-x and so on. I hope you like it!

#1 Rilakkuma and Korilakkuma

The first caharcter you should know is san-x´ Rilakkuma. He is a cute little bear. Korilak seems to be the japanese word for relaxing and kuma means bear. Next to Rilakkuma there is also a bear called Korilakkuma (ko means small). With them you also often see a little yellow bird called Kiirotori.
I love these two because I´m really into bears lately and I hope to get my hand on more merchandising of this series

Anyway, did you know that Korilakkuma is a girl? For me she will forever be male xDD

#2 Cinnamoroll

I really love Cinnamoroll <3 He was invented by Sanrio the company that is also responsible for Hello Kitty.
When I first saw him I actually thought he is a girl^^ But now I´m used to see him as a boy :3
I also thought he was a bunny but actually it´s a puppy!

#3 Little Twin Stars

Little Twin Stars are to angel like characters. They were very popular in the 1980s. The one with the blue hair is called Kiki the pink one Lala.
I´m quite in love with this two lately and hope to get some more merchandising of them too!

#4 Sentimental Circus

San-x´ Sentimental Circus is a bunch of cute characters. The main chara is a bunny. Others are a lion, three cute birds, a bear, two monkeys and -one that I like very much- a blue elephant.

I absolutely want such a plushi *-* He is called Mouton

#5 My Melody

My Melody is a cute rabbit girl always wearing a pink or red hat over her ears. She is from Sanrio like Cinnamoroll. There is also a bunny wearing a black hat. He seems to be called Kuromi.

While looking around for this post I found a list of Sanrio´s characters on wikipedia. Check it out if you like:
Also, do not forget to leave a comment ~

Until next time,
Yaya ~
